#10375 - Extracting Backgrounds In Photoshop

Extracting Backgrounds In Photoshop

Extracting Backgrounds In Photoshop

This class is for the person who knows the basics of Photoshop (at the very least where the tools and palettes are) and want to learn how to remove distracting backgrounds from the main image.

The lesson will cover how to remove solid color backgrounds from an image as well as how to remove a more complicated background and leave your main image on a transparent background.  Your extracted image can then be used in other applications such as scrapbook layouts or other types of digital art.

The lesson doesn't take anything for granted because there are words and lots of pictures so you
could easily follow along even if you're not very good with Photoshop yet.

This lesson will help the PaintShopPro user and some of the other photo
editing programs that can use layers.

There are 2 image files plus the class in .pdf format, so you will have 3 downloads total.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY A LESSON. If you've already read this in another lesson description, you can skip it this time.

Each lesson will be geared to the person who has limited (if any) knowledge of Photoshop. The more advanced lessons will be artistic lessons - the kind of lessons that you won't necessarily find in a book. These lessons will help you create wonderful art, collages or scrapbook layouts - all created on a computer.

The lessons will be written for Photoshop CS3 Extended which is the program that I use. If you have other versions of Photoshop, you should be able to do the lessons; the tools are basically the same. Some versions have different names or different places that the tools are found. The same goes for Paint Shop Pro. You should be able to follow along with the program that you have as long as it has features like LAYERS, TEXT TOOLS, FILTERS and other basics. I believe that Gimp will work for these lessons too but I can't promise that since I've never worked with that program.

Before you purchase a lesson, please look at the description carefully. I will try to explain what the lesson contains.

Be advised that there are many ways to create something in Photoshop. I will be teaching the method that I use. There are many good (and free) tutorials on the internet so don't think that my methods are the only way to do something.

I do remember what it was like when I first got started with Photoshop so my lessons will help you do things when you really have no idea what you should even look for in a tutorial.

Your lesson will come to you in .pdf format. You save the file to your computer and open it with Adobe Reader.

Before you purchase your first lesson you need to get a hardcover notebook. An old fashioned composition book will do nicely because you won't be tempted to tear the pages out of it. Keep this book for lessons, notes, tutorials that you run across, tips or tricks that you pick up along the way. My lessons will always be at hand but sometimes it's easier to look in your notebook rather than open a computer file.

The other thing you need to do is to create 3 folders in MY PICTURES. The first you will call PS lessons. The next is PS images and the third will be called PS finished.

When you purchase this lesson, I will send your class materials to your e-mail address.

Have fun with this lesson and look for more in the coming weeks!
